Disclaimer
Last updated: March 2025
This Disclaimer applies to all content, features, and services provided by MotionLab through motion-lab.io and associated applications. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set out below. Please read this page carefully before starting any exercise programme through MotionLab.
1. Health & Fitness Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: Please read this section before using any MotionLab content or beginning any exercise programme.
The content, routines, assessments, scores, and instructions provided through MotionLab are for general informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute medical advice, medical diagnosis, medical treatment, or any form of clinical recommendation. MotionLab is not a healthcare provider, and the platform does not create any healthcare or professional relationship between you and MotionLab.
Physical exercise — including stretching and mobility work — carries inherent risks. Risks may include, but are not limited to, muscular strain, joint discomfort, overexertion, and in rare cases, more serious injury. Individual responses to exercise vary significantly depending on fitness level, age, existing health conditions, and other factors.
You should consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new exercise programme, and specifically before using MotionLab if any of the following apply to you:
- You are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are in the postpartum period
- You have a diagnosed cardiovascular condition, including heart disease, arrhythmia, high blood pressure, or a history of stroke
- You have recently undergone surgery, a medical procedure, or are in active rehabilitation
- You have chronic pain, a musculoskeletal condition, or a known injury affecting your joints, spine, or soft tissue
- You have been advised by a healthcare professional to avoid or limit certain types of physical activity
- You are taking medication that may affect your physical capacity, balance, or perception of pain
- You have a metabolic or endocrine condition such as type 1 or type 2 diabetes that may be affected by exercise
- You have not engaged in regular physical activity for an extended period of time
During any exercise session, pay close attention to how your body responds. You must stop exercising immediately and seek medical attention if you experience any of the following:
- Sharp, stabbing, or worsening pain in any area
- Chest pain, tightness, or pressure
- Dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint
- Shortness of breath disproportionate to the activity level
- Sudden swelling, numbness, or tingling in any limb or joint
- Unusual fatigue or any other symptom that concerns you
MotionLab uses carefully worded language throughout the platform — such as "may help improve mobility" and "supports better movement quality" — because outcomes vary between individuals and we are not making clinical claims. These statements reflect the general potential benefits of consistent mobility training for healthy adults, not guarantees of specific results.
2. No Professional Relationship
Use of the MotionLab platform does not create, and should not be construed as creating, any professional relationship between you and MotionLab or any individual associated with the platform. In particular:
- No coach-athlete relationship is formed by using MotionLab's guided sessions or exercise recommendations.
- No doctor-patient or clinician-patient relationship is formed by using the mobility assessment tool or receiving a mobility score.
- No physiotherapist-patient relationship is formed by following any exercise described within the platform.
MotionLab's content is generated algorithmically based on generalised fitness principles and the inputs you provide. It is not a substitute for individualised professional assessment or instruction from a qualified fitness professional, physiotherapist, sports coach, or healthcare practitioner.
3. Results Disclaimer
MotionLab does not guarantee any specific results from using the platform. Individual results vary significantly based on factors including but not limited to age, current fitness level, consistency of practice, pre-existing conditions, sleep quality, nutrition, stress levels, and genetics. Any progress metrics, mobility scores, or session summaries displayed within the platform are informational in nature and are not warranties of health improvement.
Statements such as "may help improve mobility" and "supports better movement" are intended to convey the potential general benefits of regular stretching and mobility work for healthy individuals. They are not promises of outcome for any specific user, and should not be relied upon as such.
4. Content Accuracy
Exercise descriptions, instructions, breathing cues, and associated guidance within MotionLab are developed for educational purposes and are reviewed to reflect generally accepted stretching and mobility principles. However, we cannot guarantee that all content is completely accurate, current, or suitable for every individual in all circumstances.
We update exercise content regularly to improve accuracy, safety guidance, and clarity. Despite these efforts, exercise science is an evolving field, and recommendations may change over time. We make no warranty that any specific piece of content represents the latest best practice for every user.
If you believe any exercise instruction is inaccurate, unclear, or potentially unsafe, please contact us at legal@motion-lab.io so we can review it promptly.
5. External Links Disclaimer
The MotionLab platform may contain links to third-party websites, resources, or services. These links are provided for informational convenience only. MotionLab does not endorse, control, or accept responsibility for the content, privacy practices, products, or services of any third-party website. Accessing any external link is done entirely at your own risk, and you should review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MotionLab, its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with:
- Your use of, or inability to use, the Service or any content within it
- Physical injury, muscular strain, or any health consequence resulting from following exercise instructions or routines generated by MotionLab
- Any reliance on the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of content provided through the platform
- Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data or account
- Interruption, suspension, or termination of the Service
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which damages are claimed and even if MotionLab has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability may apply different rules, in which case our liability shall be limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
7. Indemnification
By using the Service, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MotionLab and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your use of the Service in violation of these disclaimers or our Terms of Use
- Your breach of any warranty or representation made herein
- Any claim that your actions or omissions in connection with the Service caused harm to a third party
MotionLab reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate fully with MotionLab in asserting any available defences.
8. Severability
If any provision of this Disclaimer is found to be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable under applicable law, that provision shall be deemed severable from the remainder of this Disclaimer and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. Any such severed provision shall be replaced with a valid provision that most closely approximates the intent and economic effect of the severed provision.
This Disclaimer constitutes part of the overall agreement between you and MotionLab and should be read alongside our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Legal Information page.
