This page sets out important legal information about MotionLab, including our operating details, the law that governs our Service, and critical notices regarding the nature of the content we provide. Please read this page carefully alongside our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

1. Company Information

MotionLab is operated as an independent digital platform providing guided stretching and mobility training services. The platform is accessible via motion-lab.io and associated mobile applications.

For all legal correspondence and formal notices, please use the following contact details:

All formal legal notices, regulatory correspondence, and service-of-process enquiries should be directed to legal@motion-lab.io. We aim to acknowledge formal legal notices within 5 business days.

2. Jurisdiction & Governing Law

The MotionLab platform, these legal notices, and all agreements between MotionLab and its users are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada. By using the Service, you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Canada for the resolution of any disputes arising out of or relating to these legal notices or your use of the Service.

Where applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide greater protections than those described herein, those laws will apply to the extent required. Users based in the European Union retain the benefit of mandatory consumer protection provisions provided by EU law and may have recourse to EU alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

3. Medical Disclaimer

IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY.

MotionLab is designed and intended for general wellness, educational, and fitness purposes only. The Service — including all exercise routines, mobility assessments, instructional content, scores, and recommendations — is provided solely as a general guide to movement and flexibility training.

MotionLab is not a medical device as defined under applicable medical device regulations in any jurisdiction. The Service is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing communicated through the Service — whether text, instructions, scores, or generated routines — should be interpreted as medical advice of any kind.

MotionLab does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition, disease, or injury. Descriptions such as "may help improve mobility" and "supports better movement" reflect potential general wellness benefits of consistent stretching and are not clinical claims.

Before beginning any exercise programme — including those generated by MotionLab — you should consult a qualified and registered healthcare professional, particularly if any of the following apply:

  • You have a known medical condition or chronic illness
  • You have a current or recent musculoskeletal injury
  • You have cardiovascular disease or a history of heart problems
  • You are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are postpartum
  • You have recently undergone surgery or a medical procedure
  • You experience chronic pain, joint instability, or limited range of motion
  • You are taking medication that may affect your ability to exercise safely

If at any point during exercise you experience pain (beyond mild discomfort), dizziness, shortness of breath, chest tightness, unusual fatigue, or any other concerning symptom, you must stop immediately and seek medical advice before continuing.

MotionLab does not accept liability for any injury, loss, or damage arising from reliance on the content provided through the Service. Use of MotionLab is entirely at your own risk.

4. Intellectual Property Notice

All intellectual property rights in the MotionLab platform — including but not limited to the software, algorithms, exercise database, instructional content, brand name, logo, design, and user interface — are owned by or licensed to MotionLab. These rights are protected by copyright, trade mark, and other applicable intellectual property laws.

No part of the Service may be reproduced, distributed, adapted, or exploited for any commercial purpose without the prior written consent of MotionLab. Unauthorised use may constitute an infringement of our intellectual property rights and may give rise to legal action.

To request a licence or report potential infringement, contact: legal@motion-lab.io.

5. Third-Party Services and Liability

MotionLab integrates with and relies on third-party services to deliver the platform, including Supabase Auth and Supabase Database (both operated by Supabase Inc.). While we select our third-party providers carefully and enter into appropriate data processing agreements with them, we are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, performance, or privacy practices of third-party services beyond our direct control.

The Service may also contain links to third-party websites or resources. These links are provided for convenience only. MotionLab does not endorse, and is not responsible for, the content, products, or services offered by third-party websites. Accessing third-party links is entirely at your own risk.

6. Dispute Resolution

We aim to resolve any disputes or complaints informally and promptly wherever possible. If you have a concern about the Service, we encourage you to contact us first at legal@motion-lab.io, providing a clear description of the issue. We will endeavour to respond within 10 business days.

If we are unable to resolve a dispute informally, both parties agree to attempt good-faith negotiation or mediation before commencing formal legal proceedings. Formal disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Canada as set out in Section 2 above. Consumers based in the EU may also have the right to use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
